The 19th annual Multiple Sclerosis Benefit in support of The Linda E. Cardinale Multiple Sclerosis Center (“Center”), scheduled for September 11, 2020, will not be held due to the uncertain nature of the Covid-19 pandemic. With that said, the Benefit Committee could have looked to 2021. However, we have a responsibility to our community to identify a new path to follow to find an alternative way to provide our support — support that the Center relies on to make an important difference in the lives of people living with MS.
In these difficult times, with many facets of life at a stop, MS is not one of them. Each year, over 2000 patients are treated at the Center, which relies on the funding from the MS Benefit. This funding is essential as it helps the Center to continue to provide the integrated and comprehensive treatments our patients depend on, including the 12-week Wellness Program, the Graduate Wellness Program and the newly established 8-week “CentraStrides” therapeutic equine program. MS is a chronic, debilitating disease of the central nervous system that can lead to substantial disability. The effective treatments and programs offered by our Center can help manage the symptoms and change the course of the disease.
With this in mind, the Benefit Committee is pleased to announce this year’s fundraising initiative — “CentraState Challenges Multiple Sclerosis.” Our sponsors are offering a 1:1 matching gift to encourage your participation in this important drive. All donations received from now through September 11th (up to $60,000) will be matched.
The Benefit Committee believes that this fundraising effort emphatically demonstrates our continued investment in the Center, the patients it serves, together with family and friends, and our community.
