Volunteer Opportunities

CentraState Healthcare Foundation has a variety of meaningful volunteer roles for anyone who desires an active involvement in their community hospital.

Band Aid Open Golf Committee

The Band Aid Open Golf Outing began in 1997 with 70 golfers and raised $3,400. A move to a larger facility was inevitable when golfers exceeded 200 every year. In 2009, 200 golfers participated by enjoying a full day on two beautiful courses at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster. The committee has a great time planning one of the largest charity golf outings in the state, raising over $200,000.

The proceeds from this event are dedicated to a new expansion of the Intensive Care Unit at CentraState Medical Center. This $15 million construction project will expand the ICU from15 beds to 26 beds, each in private rooms equipped for critical care. Features include the capacity to double up to 52 beds; a separate ventilation system; three specially equipped negative pressure rooms for infection control; and cubical curtains will be replaced with electronic glass for patient privacy and comfort. If you want to do something tangible for your community hospital, network with other community leaders and love golf – this is the committee for you!

Ladies Links for Better Health Committee

This committee was organized in 1997 with the assistance of physicians’ wives who wanted to raise money for their medical center. The proceeds from this women-only charity golf event benefit the Student Health Awareness Center at CentraState. In order to create a more unique event, the Committee established three $2,000 academic scholarships for young women golfers who participate in the outing.

The Ladies Links outing is an exhilarating day of golf, mentoring and fun for everyone involved. If you’re looking to network with other women executives, have a love of golf or would like to learn the game, and are interested in helping to provide support for CentraState’s Women’s Center and young women, then this is the committee for you!

Multiple Sclerosis Center Benefit Committee

The Multiple Sclerosis Benefit began in 2003 as a halloween party. In 2005, the event evolved into a wine tasting attracting over 400 attendees and raising over $300,000. The event is held on the hospital campus with an array of gourmet food and high quality wines.

The proceeds are dedicated to the expansion of the Linda E. Cardinale MS Center. The relocated Center will grow from its current 800 sq. ft. to just over 4,400 sq. ft. and will allow for a new and dedicated infusion center, research program, a neurocognitive and spasticity program, as well as additional clinical support space. The new center will provide the most advanced patient care to accommodate the needs of our MS patients and their families.

Celebration Ball Committee

This event is rich in history and began in 1962 when it became apparent to a group of Freehold residents that a hospital was needed in western Monmouth County. The Celebration Ball continues today, rich in tradition and heritage thanks to those who had the vision and dedication many years ago. Join the Ball Committee and help plan and organize CentraState’s largest event attracting nearly 400 revelers and raising $400,000.

The Ball co-chairs and committee are leaders in business who stay focused on the task, yet this is the most social of all the event committees. Do you have that uncanny ability to solicit in-kind donations, sell raffle tickets or sponsorships? Do you love to dance? Have an affinity to CentraState Medical Center and would like to help in some way? This committee may be just the perfect fit for you!

Community Advisory Council

The Board of Trustees of CentraState Healthcare System established the Community Advisory Council in an effort to help identify healthcare needs of the communities served by CentraState and to develop strategies and programs to address those needs. Several committees were created to complete this work and are comprised of representatives from the respective communities we serve as well as from community agencies, local government, education, churches, healthcare providers, and civic organizations. Opportunities exist on the following committees:

Aging in Place

This committee takes a leadership role in the development of geriatric programming that will facilitate the ability of seniors in our community to remain as independent as their medical status and interests allow.

Student Health Issues

School officials, nurses, counselors, local police officials and other professionals in childcare make up this interesting committee. This group addresses concerns such as anger management, substance abuse, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, obesity and teen suicide prevention. It has developed programs for school nurses, students and parents.

Health Career Planning

This committee is charged with coordinating a collaborative partnership with the area high schools to engage students in pursuing studies and careers in the healthcare/medical fields. CentraState provides an extern program for the students enrolled in the Medical Sciences Center of the Freehold Regional High School District.

Corporate Gifts Committee

This committee develops goals and strategies for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of corporate/business prospects. In particular, it helps in identifying and cultivating business owners and executives who may have an interest in supporting programs or services of CentraState
